Model turned Miss India turned actress remains an enigma. She came fourth in Miss Universe 1993. Her highly photogenic face is a photographers dream come true.

She was one of the models whom designers still miss and while on ramp, nobody could have missed her. Her presence was electrifying on ramp. In her active modelling days, she was in top 5 models of her time.

Her Sister Shilpa Shirodkar is also an actress. Whatever the number of her films, she has carved out a niche of her own in the film world and the myth that 'models can't act' is now slowly been broken.

She made her debut in an inconsequential film “Hero Hindustani” (opposite Arshad Warsi) in 1998 but wasn’t noticed until the small realistic role she played opposite Sanjay Dutt in “Vaastav”. After “Vaastav” she also became a regular in director Mahesh Manjrekar’s camp.
